Normally it will take a few years, maybe two or three. But then I am talking about a public release, from time to time we will be looking for beta-testers. Well, like you know the games you mentioned are based on PvE (player versus enviroment). They build theire game based on the PvE aspect and later they add PvP (Player versus player) to it. Betrayal of Heroes is being based and built on the PvP aspect of gaming and we will add the PvE part too it later. 4.0 Beta tester 4.1 How do i become a beta-tester? If you want to become a beta-tester you will first need to register at our forum, if a beta-version launches we will ask for volunteers at our forum. As soon as we have a dedicated game server up and running you can apply as tester through a form. 4.2 What are my responsibilities as a beta-tester? Who are the current members of the audio team? At the moment on music, we have Zidaya, Sound and myself, while happysnake is the audio team's sound design artist. However, these categories are non-exclusive and anyone is welcome to contribute to both music and sound effects. What type of music will the game have? As Betrayal of Heroes is a medieval-style MMORPG with a realistic feel, its music will ideally reflect that fact. However, any style that fits the relevant scene is acceptable, be it acoustic guitar, solo piano or orchestral. How can I help? What audio is needed in the game? What audio formats are supported? Betrayal of Heroes is currently able to implement both WAV and OGG files via the Torque engine. Must the music submitted be loopable? At this stage, the answer is generally no. However, it may change depending on the specific situation being accompanied in the game. What software is available? For freeware audio editing, Audacity is one of the superior options. For freeware MIDI creation, try Power Tab (excellent guitar TAB editor), Anvil Studio (inferior but free staff and piano roll sequencer) or JAZZ++ (MIDI sequencer). What about more professional sequencers? If payment is not an issue, FL Studio, SONAR, Reason and Cubase are all worthy contenders. What if I can't perform the music live? What should I do?
